We have a Scholastic Book Fair thru Friday the 16th. Open from 7:30-3:00 each day. ( closed for lunch 11:45-12:30)
We will shut it down at 2:00 on the 16th for shipment.

What are we doing this week?????
4-5-6th grade students are reveiwing Accelerated Reader, taking the STAR test, reviewing OPAC and checking out books for AR requirements for reading teachers.
2nd & 3rd are reviewing call numbers, parts of books, types of books and the different areas of the media center.
k & 1st grade are meeting Leo the Library Mouse, Mr. Wiggle and LiBEARy the Library Bear. These characters introduce basic book care rules.
Remember....if you don't have library that day you are more than welcome to stop in between 7:30-7:55 to find a book or take an AR test...be sure you GO TO BREAKFAST first in you plan on eating at school. You must be in your classroom before the bell.

1. The Very Lonely Firefly- Join preschool in our lobby for a "glowing" night of excitement! From edible dragonflies to atomic slime, please come out for an eerie time!
2. Rip Squeak and His Friends- When the humans leave, the adventures begin! Come join Rip Squeak and his sister, Jesse. They there is no reason for little mice to be afraid once the humans leave home. They soon make friends & have a great adventure! Join us in room 118 to find out how little mice, a cat and frog can discover great adventures! Enjoy snacks & make an exciting craft you can retell the story. Grades k-2
3. If you Give a Cat a Cupcake - Have you ever read the story If you Give a Mouse a Cookie? If you have, then you know mouse starts out wanting a cookie which makes him want other things and all those things make him want another cookie! So what do you think will happen if you give a cat a cupcake? Come to Mrs. Holly's session where we will be reading If you Give a Cat a Cupcake and find out!
4. Wonderful Worms -Do you like worms? Have you ever wondered what it would be to be like one? To burrow through the dirt and actually eat it! Yuck! If you would like to learn more about worms and see what they are doing down in the earth, come to our session. Wonderful Worms gives us facts about these slimy creatures and how they help us. Come and be prepared to get dirty!
5. Junie B. Jones Has a Monster Under Her Bed -Have you ever been afraid of monsters? Come and join us as we read how Junie B. Jones overcame her fear of the monster under her bed. You will enjoy hands activities decorating your very own monster snacks and monster extermination kit!
6.The Terrible Tragadabas -Several characters will be surprised and frightened by an unfamiliar beast, The Terrible Tragadabas, as they try to shop at the local store. You will be shocked and amazed to see who saves the day and runs this frightful beast out of town for good! Come join us for a fun-filled story, a puppet making session and some little cakes and honey!

7. Sylvester and the Magic Pebble - When Sylvester Ducan finds a shiny red pebble to add to his rock collection, he never dreams that the pebble is MAGIC! The pebble grants his every wish, but he soon finds out that this is not always a good thing. Come join Ms. Smith as we read all about Slyvester's adventures with his magic pebble. We will have enjoy an indoor picnic and create some "magic" rocks of our own.
8. Dr. DeSoto - Do you like going to the dentist? You would if Dr. DeSoto was your dentist. He's a smart mouse with patients of all kinds, even a fox! Come hear how Doctor DeSoto out foxes a fox. We will play a tooth pulling game, learn new words to build your vocabulary and eat a snack! You'll even get a new toothbrush!
9. Pete's A Pizza - Do you love pizza? Have you ever pretended that you were a pizza? Come to this session during StoryFest and we will make each student into a pizza. We will read and act out the story "Pete's A Pizza" and then have some delicious pizza of our own.
10. The Paper Bag Princess - If interested in princesses, dragons or fire you want to join us! Princess Elizabeth has it all: beauty, riches, and a prince to marry. Come interact with this story and find out why there is a twist at the end that is like no other fairy tale. Join us for an awesome story, contest and yummy snacks.
11. Fancy Nancy - If you're into fanciness and you like to dress up, please join us for a "Fancy Nancy" gathering in Mrs. Fussell's room. Eight "fancy" girls who arrive dressed in their "fancy" clothes can expect to have a fabulous time eating decadent treats, and making their own sparkling jewelry together! Don't waste any time! There's only 8 spots for special young children to attend!
12. Cam Jansen and the Birthday Mystery - Investigators needed in Mrs. Russelburg's room. Eat cake and solve a mystery! When Cam surprises both of her parents with a fortieth birthday party, the last thing on her mind is solving mysteries. But then Granny and Gramps call from the airport to say they have been robbed. There is a mystery to solve, and a thief to catch. You are invited to the surprise birthday party where you can examine all of the evidence for yourself and see if you can catch the thief!
13. Moira's Birthday- Moira wants to invite grades 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and kindergarten to her birthday party. Her parents give her permission to invite only 6 guests. When Moira goes to school with only 6 invitations, she ends up inviting everyone anyway! Join us to find out what happens at Moira*s birthday celebration! For kindergarten through 3rd grade---can accommodate 12 students ONLY
14. M&M's Count - Come join in on the fun of exploring colors, patterns, multiplication facts and graphing as we see how M&M's

15. How to Hide a Butterfly - Come join Fourth Grade teachers to see how animals hide in nature. We will be reading different books on how camouflage helps different types of animals hide from their predators or to catch their prey. We will be coloring an assortment of animals and "hiding" them in our forest. Then we will play "I Spy" to see if we can find the animals hidden in the forest
16. Lewis & Clark - Calling All Explorers! Join the 5th grade team as we go back in time on a Lewis and Clark Adventure! Sign up to participate in an outdoor discovery hunt, design and trade authentic Indian beadwork, and find out how the explorers survived foraging for their food. IF you think you know how to survive in the wild...come test your skills on our historic journey.
17. Miss Alaineus - If vocabulary is your thing, then join Mrs. Watson as we read Miss Alaineus A Vocabulary Disaster. We will see how much fun vocabulary can really be, how easy it is to mix up words, write an alliteration poem, and snack on some goodies.
18. The 39 Clues - Dear Long-Lost Cahill Relative,
It is time you know the truth. You are a member of the Cahill Family, the most powerful family the world has ever known. The secret of the Cahill's power has been lost, hidden around HCES in the form of the 39 Clues. Find the Clues, and immense power is yours ! Join Mrs. Taylor in the library to begin a scavenger hunt throughout the school. (You must have an adult with you to participate.) Watch a video introduction by Rick Riordan, participate in a scavenger hunt around the school and enjoy Dan's favorite junk foods! A prize package will be awarded to the ultimate winner of the clue hunt. For 4th-5th-6th graders, limit of 20:
